Casa Pedra Salera is a rural cottage built in 1973 by our great grandparents, founder of Forn Franquesa bakery in 1953, and restored for guest accommodation purposes in 2010. We have maintained old charms such as the salty stone from which the house takes its name Pedra Salera and adapted to modern comforts while introducing eco-friendly elements: an organic composter, heat insulation, a natural pond and a pool with saline treatment. Perafita is a village of around 350 inhabitants, located in Lluçanès area, in the county of Osona, Catalunya Region. At an altitude of 754m above sea level, it’s a very calm spot, far from the reach of industrialisation and urban realities.
The toponym Perafita comes from the latin Pedra Ficta, which literally means “fixed stone”- referring to a stone that is fixed in a location to indicate the limits of a given territory or property. Read more
